FAQ
The proceeds sent to us from our Life Affirming Ecards series goes to the care and feeding of a small pride of feral cats and the occasional but regular sojourners.
In subzero temperatures, feral cats die without protected and marginally heated shelter, as these animals are not really wild, but have been tossed away by humans who no longer want them. It's a myth that domestic animals like dogs and cats can survive in the wild. The rare feel-good story of pets that are gone for a prolonged period and come back, help to justify in our minds that they will be OK in the wild. It's simply not true. Even under marginally protected (a barn or garage) and well-fed conditions (daily feeding), a harsh winter is brutal on the health and welfare of these animals.
Studies have revealed that feral cats live less than a year, which based on the number of feral cats, suggests that ALOT of them are in fact, domestic cats that were literally thrown away and left to die.
Any additional gifting goes to feeding numerous wild songbirds who rely on seed and fresh water in the dead of winter. After a snow event, literally thousands of birds descend on this hobby farm for a needed meal.
This small gift store has been created to help feed many little mouths!
Yes. For example, if you wanted a Mother's Day card to instead be a Birthday Card for someone special, just provide the details with the PAYPAL payment or contact Nini at [email protected] to communicate what you would like.
